Foundations, frost and snow load in Flathead County

An addition in Kalispell is not the same build as an addition in a mild climate. Footings have to bear below the 42-inch frost depth, and the roof structure has to carry a 50 psf ground snow load. We also plan where snow will shed once the new roof is on. A valley created by an addition can dump a season of snow onto a walkway, a gas meter, or the very door you added the space to reach. That gets designed around, not discovered in February.
